Landscape Crew Leader Jobs in Galena Ohio & Sunbury OH

Summary:

Responsible for performing quality landscape services for our customers in a safe and efficient manner by effectively managing and leading the performance of 1-4 crew members on a daily basis in Sunbury, Galena and surrounding areas.

Essential Job Functions for Landscape Crew Leaders:

Report at the designated start time to review the schedule/route
Mow grass using commercial mowing equipment
Edge curbs and walks using a weedeater
Cleanup of property using a backpack blower
Bed and pavement weed control
Pruning of shrubs and trees
Soil preparation for flower and plant installation
Installation of flowers, trees, and shrubs
Cleanup of beds during spring operations
Edge beds using a Little Wonder Bed Shaper
Apply mulch to landscape beds
Fall cleanup of leaves, perennials, and debris
Load/Unload equipment onto trucks and trailers
Secure equipment for transport to properties
Clean trucks & equipment
General equipment maintenance

Requirements:

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Walking for long periods
Stand, bend & squat for up to 10 or more hours per day
Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
Carry a 20-lb. backpack blower on your back
Use companies’ mobile time entry software

Responsibilities for Landscape Crew Leaders:

Quality Control of Job Site
Conduct site inspections upon arrival and prior to departure from the job site.
Identify and report turf, tree, and shrub insect/disease problems or other property issues to your manager.
Assist your crew in the performance of services/tasks assigned to them.
Communicate customer questions or concerns to the manager.

Employee Supervision:

Assign work to crew members
On-the-job training of crew members to properly perform assigned tasks
Make sure crew members are operating equipment in a safe manner and that the correct personal protective equipment is utilized
Assure uniform standards of crew members.
