Landscape Crew Leader/Foreman

Summary:

Responsible for performing quality landscape services for our customers in a safe and efficient manner by effectively managing and leading the performance of 1-4 crew members on a daily basis.

Essential Job Functions:

• Report at designated start time to review schedule/route
• Mow grass using commercial mowing equipment
• Edge curbs and walks using a weedeater
• Cleanup of property using a backpack blower
• Bed and pavement weed control
• Pruning of shrubs and trees
• Soil preparation for flower and plant installation
• Installation of flowers, trees and shrubs
• Cleanup of beds during spring operations
• Edge beds using a Little Wonder Bed Shaper
• Apply mulch to landscape beds
• Fall cleanup of leaves, perennials and debris
• Load/Unload equipment onto trucks and trailers
• Secure equipment for transport to properties
• Clean trucks & equipment
• General equipment maintenance

Requirements:

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Walk for long periods of time
• Stand, bend & squat for up to 10 or more hours per day
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
• Carry a 20-lb. backpack bloweron your back
• Use companies mobile time entry software

Responsibilities:

• Quality Control of Job Site
• Conduct site inspections upon arrival and prior to departure from job site.
• Identify and report turf, tree and shrub insect/disease problems or other property issues to your manager.
• Assist your crew in the performance of services/tasks assigned to them.
• Communicate customer questions or concerns to manager.

Employee Supervision:

• Assign work to crew members
• On the job training of crew members to properly perform assigned tasks
• Make sure crew members are operating equipment in a safe manner and that the correct personal protective equipment is utilized
• Assure uniform standards of crew members.

Efficiency:

Organize/Manage the delivery of work in a manner to achieve budgeted hours for each function while maintaining quality and safety standards.
